Sign up for my Summer of Myths Play Group/ Kid's Morning Out. Every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August from 9-noon your children ages 4-9 are invited, to meet at Waverly Oaks Sprinkler Park for crafts, games, and fun!
They will be having a blast while you run your errands, meet a friend or just take a shower - all by yourself! Every week we'll learn about mythology from Ancient Greek to the mythology found in modern books like Harry Potter and The Kane Chronicles. In addition to literary myths and mythology, we'll spend a week on scientific myths using a few Mythbuster experiments.
Of course, there will be lots of outdoor play including hikes, water play, and good old fashioned running around the park.
At the end of the summer, you can view all of the crafts ( pottery, a paper mache pyramid, and their very own comic book myth, to name a few) in a Myth Museum put together by the children.
Older kids will be encouraged to read and log their time throughout the summer. Those who have read 20 hours by the end of the summer will be invited to a pizza party.
